Remembering Ishaque Ali event – 25th June
I'm delighted to see this memorial event happening. Ishaque Ali was killed in a racist attack in Clapton on 25th June 1978. There is a post about this here which also covers the community response:

Building work on a property at 245 Mare Street has uncovered this rather fetching signage from a bygone era. But, what does it mean? ask the collected doom-scrollers of Hackney. Well the answer includes fighting the NF, solidarity with asylum seekers, an outraged Margaret Thatcher, racist policing, defending anarchists and a lot more!
