I hear almost every job now is asking for "ai experience"... which is for the most part going to be being injected by bullshitpilled middlemen at recruitment companies rather than the actual hirer

imo treat it like you would "3 shipped titles": ignore it and apply anyway, and in a pinch just lie

I spent some of this week making an I/O system for level scripting in Unreal. I have long had thoughts on why these kick ass. Here's an unusually long blog post on:

-why these kick ass
-why they are necessary
-how mine works
-etc etc

blog post about the VR vector field painter app I made a long time ago that I still think is cool

I see so many people who are afraid to call themselves marauders. "I'm only just starting out", they say, or "I don't earn a majority of my income from it". I'm here to tell you that if you roam about and raid in search of plunder, you are a marauder.

When Unity started collapsing I made a quick "how do I get going in Unreal" website many folks found helpful. that website has now MOVED and is a DIFFERENT COLOUR. If you want Unreal demystification, tips and scoops, this is a place

did a blog post about some electronic old men i have met

sometimes someone isn't sure how to take the tone of conversation in the 'cord, how seriously to take various offhand remarks, and we say "just imagine it's people talking down the pub" but a lot of mfs on the internet have never been down the pub. it's a problem
but it's the same thing there of assuming you're welcome because you've not picked a fight. you've just sorta come to someone's party and let the host know "i may not like you but you throw a great party". haha uhh at least don't drink my beer
the other thing i do with my server that takes people incredibly offguard is i don't want people in there who dislike me? because it's my space? and people reveal that they loathe me and still for some reason want to be there (???) and assume that's fine. i have less of a guess where that comes from
i went to school in a small town where you couldn't walk down the street without seeing someone you knew. it could be a bit stifling but when a bad impulse needed to be resisted it helped that you knew your identity was your identity... couldn't go a few blocks and not be the guy who said that thing
