It's so easy to ignore the effect of our own biases when working with others' needs; I am trained to be aware of it, and to avoid generally - and sometimes to use them therapeutically, in counterpoint, or disclosure.
And that awareness is only partial, it can be increased, but there is always more.
So our biases form a deep part of who we are.
