very weird login, Slow. Then offered a translation into German from English. Hit back key and then it went in. Limit of 500 back up to 5000.
I have also saved the password on boot.
for my convenience. Normally I don't.

My mail provider's spam filter supports SPF and whitelisting — but whitelisting runs before SPF (by design!). Result: spoofed mails from my own domain pass unchecked (my own domain is whitelisted). What's the point of domain filtering if you verify after the bypass? Any engineers have insight into this architecture?

Unfortunately, under the new regime of mandatory identity verification laws that are in force in some countries and US states, it is too risky to operate a #Mastodon instance as an #admin as there is no infrastructure in place (nor would I want to gather all of that personally identifiable info about users). So, unfortunately for users of this instance, this is the end of the road for this years-long experiment with the #fediverse. Hypno.social will shut down in 90 days on Sep 23, 2026.
