From Purpose to Impact: The University and Business Partnership

To meet the challenge of closing the gap between academic research and industry practice, we need a step change in how the business school and the business scholar engages with business. This book presents best practice in the methods of broadening successful academic–business engagement on a major scale. It presents concrete recommendations for setting programmes, creating incentives and structuring recruitment that will transform effective academic–business engagement. Most universities cl

Cultural data collections preserve and provide access to the historic artifacts of our communities, but many exist in a precarious ecosystem, where erratic funding, fragmented support, and disconnected expertise threaten their continued existence. In a new article @lisagiven @sarahpolk explore these issues and map a healthy cultural data ecosystem for the future https://doi.org/10.1002/asi.24849

ARC bombarded with FOIs for research application scores

Australia’s university research funding agency has received hundreds of Freedom of Information requests from unsuccessful grant applicants for the scores and feedback on their rejected proposals. Responses will be provided just before the next funding application deadline. The Australian Research Council, currently the subject of a rare government review, insists it is happy to provide the feedback but its “system isn’t set up” to do it in a proactive way.
