Unmoored enjoyer of books, movies, TV, video games, music.

iOS (presently), backend (historically), and devops (accidentally). Chronically curious.

Nothing like getting your Google account randomly locked for "being used in a way that violated Google's policies". I was able to immediately unlock it by logging in and verifying with my phone, but yikes nonetheless.

I started migrating all my important accounts off my Gmail address last year. This was a good / spooky nudge to migrate a few more.

I watched SATANTANGO a few years ago. I guess the streaming platform didn’t expect content to be that long, because it silently froze at the six hour mark in a totally black, silent moment. I watched it for a full minute before thinking “You know, this seems extreme even for you.”

RIP, Béla Tarr.

I saw my aunt this weekend. I always admired her growing up: she was a dedicated dancer, bird watcher, traveler, and general arts-enjoyer. I took up ballet and piano because I wanted to be just like her.

I just found out that she started all of those hobbies after she got sober in her 40s, shortly before I was born. Her defining characteristics, in my eyes, have occupied less than half of her life.

It was a nice reminder that you can start a new chapter of your life whenever you’d like.

Feliz año, fediverso.
