Just a note from a psychiatrist: with yet another shooting, conservatives will try to tie mental illness to the reason. This is wrong, creates more stigma for people living with mental illness, and mental illness does not cause homophobia.
It’s still the white nationalism and guns.

CNBC's article on the Trump reinstatement is a case study in how to botch the story. A single word -- calling it a "straw" poll -- substitutes for actual journalism. No other hint how bogus this "poll" was, and how deceitful Musk has been.

Maybe it's hopeless to expect better.

The most urgent priority now is to find ways of spinning up hundreds (thousands?) of new servers. Particularly getting formal organizations (eg news media) running servers for their own staff (and maybe subscribers?). Horizontal scaling is going to be much more sustainable than admins of existing servers having to constantly up their hosting spend and recruit more mods.

Appropriate in a way that Musk has made it such a priority to stream World Cup matches. Musk is a terrible boss who wants to drive his workers to exhaustion, while Qatar employed low wage or slave labor from guest workers to get the World Cup stadiums built.
