I have no idea what I'm doing. There, I said it.
Found it!
This has been fun so far. Middlegame by Seannan McGuire. #reading #bookstodon
The next time you use any navigation device, software or Google Maps thank Dr. Gladys West. Her contributions to the mathematical modeling of the shape of Earth, and her work on the development of the satellite models that were eventually incorporated into  the Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. #BlackMastodon #BlackHistoryMonth

So apparently there’s been a denial-of-service attack on mastodon.social and it was down for a bit.

I didn’t notice.

(I have my own server.)

That’s the fediverse working as designed.

No server should be so big that its absence endangers the greater system. And if any are, that’s a problem.

If we want a healthy, resilient fediverse, we must keep the size of servers small and the number of servers high.

We got some snow.
Off the back a bit. But coming on strong.
Please don’t confuse what is legal with what is right. There is some overlap, of course, but not as much as one might think. Laws are generally written by the rich and powerful to protect their interests, often at the expense of the poor and weak. Many atrocities are lawful, and many acts of mercy are unlawful. I say this as an attorney.
Ok, I figure someone has equated the Game of Life with the creation of the Universe before. Probably with a lot more thought behind it. But it was a lot of fun. The rabbit hole is deep. Thanks again @futurebird
So cool! It takes a little longer but maybe we get multiple planets with life. So what if multiple random events kick off? What then? Hit play on this one (I speeded it up a bit) and see what happens.
