Had some fun improving my toy Ruby JIT. Added a bunch of optimization passes (global value numbering probably doing the most work) which now eliminates a bunch of code, but I think it's held back by my pretty terrible codegen and register allocator
The timeline has been restored

In March 2020 I was making a DIY epaper calendar, but that suddenly became not fun to work on so it's been stuck on March 16th ever since.

I think that in order to _restore the timeline_ I need to get it working again today so that we and the calendar can move forward.

I wonder if I can automatically detect these blips in espresso machine temperature to count how many coffees I'm making.

I think this is pretty telling of ChatGPT (and well justifies it's stackoverflow ban).

It's a pretty good conversationalist/bullshitter and it's impressive how it's able to learn from the and convo and me giving it hints that it's wrong. But that's all it is, it doesn't know facts and will get them dangerously wrong with confidence.

If a human doesn't know this fact (which is completely fair) they can look it up or at least express that they don't know for sure.

I found a full odds shiny in pokemon violet!!!
