I just realized my last 3 posts are about mastodon feed scrolling. I swear I'm not obsessed with it, it is just an annoyance I'd like resolved.

Annoyance-based development is kind of a theme for me. And it's why I also have an almost-mvp iOS weather app because weather apps don't let me track what I want to track.

Weather Date is a location+date based weather app. Track the weather for important upcoming events.

I just don't know if it's ready. So how do you know?

Hey fellow devs, how do you know once you've reached a minimum viable product?

I put together a "simple" mastodon web client with reverse scrolling (new posts appear at the bottom) but all it does is show the home feed right now, no expanding to see a thread, no posting or liking, and the UI isn't super polished. Is that enough to ask for feedback😅

Side complaint: I really wish existing mastodon apps would just implement scrolling in this direction as an option.

I've been experimenting with my own web based Mastodon client and I flipped the scroll and it seems ok. I love that I don't have to scroll past images to get to the top of a post before reading it fully. It's just kind of a daunting task to try to implement all of the features I'd need to use it full time (boost, like, etc). Nevermind post creation.

If I went through the work of making it public (building login for other servers) would anyone use it?

I've seen reverse timeline scrolling discussed in the past but I haven't noticed if any clients have actually implemented it. Seems like Ivory and the official Mastodon client don't have options for it.

I'm wondering if there is a reason why nobody has this. Is it just convention or is there some obvious reason that I'm missing?
