I'm addicted to 3d printing and 3d modeling. Most of my creations are practical but I occasionally create illusions or other art as my mood dictates.

I also still build and design electronics projects using Raspberry Pi, Arduino, PIC chips, Picaxe, or whatever I grab first from my drawer.

Remember everyone -

Although you may have had larger "follower" counts on the birdsite, not all of those followers will be active. In fact, a huge number won't be. They'll have just collected like dead wood over the years.

That birdsite follower count has a vanity factor to it. Ignore that - and look at your level of interactions here. That's the test of active followers and a vibrant community.

And then make sure you're chatting away with others too. It makes all the difference.

@danhon It's different. Better? Orange vs apple to me, neither is better, just different.

I like the decentralized aspect but it does give a bit of a BBS feeling or maybe HAM radio, which is different.

It will be interesting to see how things change with growth.

@ozretrocomp @lsw That is absolutely beautiful! I considered trying to do a 3d printed replacement case for a VIC-20 that I was working on 3 years ago, but I only have an Ender 3 Pro and I didn't want a split in the design.

What did you 3d print that on?

@ezcontents Thirty years of using a Weller soldering iron causes me to forget that there are other brands with more features. That Pine unit looks nice and svelt and I really like that it doesn't need a separate station to set temperature.

@LordArse Atari gams weren't bad when the coder was allowed to pour their soul into the work and do a good job. That's the difference between this and the original Atari Pacman, they let them work on this one.

Programmers put Easter eggs in programs. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find that a programmer did that on purpose. Sometimes it's hard for coders to resist being a little passive aggressive, especially at 4am after nothing but Mountain Dew and Fritos all night.
