I wonder why my raspberry pi doesn't work 🤔

Most of the times a pi doesn't work it has something to do with the SD-card (n=50+ by now).
* write protected media - corrupted card
* wrong media flashed to card
* physically broken in half (new one to me)
It happened to me before that it was cracked in half, on close inspection it was visible, otherwise it looked healthy.
Am I a #caveman ?
I prefer a thin-client or #sbc with jntegrated storage.
