As a scientist, watching my scientist circle of people, I wish more people who care about climate data being buried(as they should) had cared about COVID data being buried. That was the time to draw a line in the sand. Now that everyone believes COVID is gone, the same people are pretty sure that they can make everyone believe climate change is gone in exactly the same way.

If you don't like the COVID example, you can insert a number of things that politicians won't talk about there. It still works, just perhaps not as recently prescient.

Although one scientist I know who has used "in the pandemic" when talking to me, texted me "Ever since the pandemic started" yesterday, and I guess small wins are still wins, even if they're too late.

I forgot to mention the worst part here, which is that if your interface name is long enough, and your vlan number is high enough... you can't create a vlan interface named enp8s0f0npf0vf1.1024 because it exceeds IFNAMSZ, glibc's maximum buffer size for an interface name.
@thomasfuchs No microdrive?
@lina @lina I've been running 10 Gb over about 50 m of 20 years old CAT5e for about half a year, and it surprisingly worked (it stopped suddenly, at which point I finally used CAT7 I bought at the same time as the 10G switches; I still run 10G over shorter spans of CAT5e).
@lispi314 @lina Gigabauds

Also USB2.0 is super cursed. It's actually 480Mbps if you send enough "0" bits. If you send too many "1" bits, then it drops down to 411Mbps. Variable speed depending on the data?!

Of course it's also very inefficient for other reasons so you never get anywhere close to those speeds anyway...

This is still one of the best #Mastodon themes out there  😆

Edit: it's a default Mastodon flavour in the Glitch-soc fork:

@krishean @mcc @mr0vka It would hide them, but it wouldn't affect the command in any other way.
Do you ever think about how pixel art predates pixels? Like, people have been doing images using little squares and stitches and stuff in mosaics and textile arts like quilting and cross stitch since forever.

@mcc @mr0vka You want rd c:\ /s /q (format won't work as drive is in use, and deltree was only present on Win9x; while rd /s /q will display a ton of "Access is denied" errors, it will destroy enough that Windows won't be able to boot if you run it elevated).
@jernej__s @mcc @mr0vka sounds like a good start. *dons penguin ski mask*
@jernej__s @mcc @mr0vka would adding >nul 2>&1 to the end of it get rid of the access denied errors? or does that only work in cmd
@krishean @mcc @mr0vka It would hide them, but it wouldn't affect the command in any other way.
