Market-driven solutions to social & public health problems, in a nutshell:

When you say "No, anti-woke doesn't mean anti- Black! It also means [things that aren't Black] too!" that's like saying "No, anti-Shabat Shalom isn't anti-semitism! They hate [group that isn't Jewish] too!"

Because woke means Black. Woke is a Black saying. Saying that you are anti-woke means that you are anti-Black.

And racists and Nazis hate Black people, Jewish people, women, LGBTQIA people, and many other marginalized groups. Racist men do not care about your reproductive rights.

When I tell you that your favorite VCs sit around in chat rooms with nazis, you think I'm joking. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Woke means Black. It's a Black saying.

Passing a law called "Stop woke" or saying "I'm anti-woke!" is equivalent to passing a law called "Stop Shabat Shalom" or "Stop Ni-Hao," but then trying to claim that you are not anti-semitic or sinophobic. It makes no sense.

Most of these VCs, writers, and politicians are irredeemably racist, and hate you on a visceral level.

Hanania is championed by tech moguls and a U.S. senator, but HuffPost found he used a pen name to become an important figure in the “alt-right.”

HuffPost

- 7.2% of American adults are LGBTQ. That's 18.9 million adults, or larger than the entire veteran population.
- 11 million Americans are bisexual. That's more people than the entire state of Georgia.
- 3.6 million Americans are gay. That's more than the entire state of Utah.
- 2.6 million Americans are lesbian. That's more people than every single farmer in the country.
- and 1.6 million of us are transgender. That's TWICE as many as there are cops in the entire United States.

When people say "we shouldn't change our entire society just to pander to such a small percentage of it", that's obviously a really dumb argument from just an ethical stance. But it's also a really dishonest one. Because they would never say the same thing about veterans, farmers, cops, or the populations of entire States.

This isn't my first rodeo. But it's only my second. And the first one went *very badly*.

The two movies that everyone is talking about this summer, Barbie and Oppenheimer, both are not available for streaming. The only pirated copies so far are unwatchable screeners. Only available in cinemas.

During an on-going pandemic this means Immuno-compromised, chronically ill and disabled have to wait to be able to see it. Not even in this area have we learned anything during this pandemic.

This is part of the day to day #ableism. #COVID19

Oh, I love this.
I've been meaning to write an article about how toggle buttons tend to be extremely difficult to interpret. Fortunately, this in-depth piece already exists: https://axesslab.com/toggles-suck/
Toggles suck! | Axess Lab

You’ve all seen them, tiny switches that let you toggle a setting. And maybe, just like me, you sometimes pause, thinking “...Is it on or…

Fantasy Meets Reality

One of my favorite things to notice as a weirdo is when the good intentions of design slam into the hard reality of humans and the real world. It’s always interesting. Let’s start with …
