It's not enough that #trans people are welcome with you. The transphobes have to be *unwelcome*.

These people must be challenged, corrected and shunned for what they say and do. It doesn't matter to me if they're your co-workers, friends or even family.

You've noticed the hate out there, right? It's rampant and only getting worse.

If you want to be my ally, please realize that I need someone willing to be my advocate. Not just someone to provide me shelter.

As a general rule, the state should over-supply services. There should be slack in the system almost all the time. Relaxed GPs with lots of time to talk to their patients. So many teachers that the main trouble is finding rooms for them all.

Not only does this see a better quality of service mostly, but it also cushions the system in the event of an unexpected shock.

If you have just enough professionals to deliver at 100%, you don’t have enough professionals.

@yantor3d are you looking for theft insurance? My renters insurance provider assured me my ebike was covered against theft by my existing policy, but did seem interested in selling me other products for accidents and liability.

@zulc22 you could also buy a pass on your phone and then they could use your Orca Card. It’s unfortunate sound transit is behind on the phone-based tap system.

@zulc22 I think in theory the bus driver can press a button for you to tap for a friend after you tap for yourself. It is now very easy to transfer value to another card using the app. It might be worth buying a $5 card for your friend that you can transfer money to from your purse. https://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/s/NLQOxp4cVX

I was trying to distract myself from the sense of loss that comes when it’s dark before 5pm by playing Firewatch, but this is the most depressing game I’ve ever played. I was almost in tears!

@shojiwax This is a beautiful bike! I had a similar hesitation and ended up buying a Hiplok D-1000 to calm my nerves. In every video I’ve seen of someone testing this bike lock, it took multiple angle grinder blades, and batteries to get through, which is the most common ways that bike locks are disabled. It takes a long time, and I suspect other bikes are more appealing at that point. Not cheap at $300, but as a percentage of the cost of my ebike, it made sense.

I saw someone saying that free time is a capitalist concept, because it's time that exists in relation to capitalist labor, and listen: free time is time in which you can do what you want, and there is no system under which you will not have to do things you don't want to do.
