Since my university doesn't offer a compiler course, I've been going through Diverse Nystrom's book "Crafting Interpreters" as a primer to work myself up to the Dragon book. Still working on the first tokenizer, but nice and understandable so far.

I know there's way too many moto vloggers already, but I've been playing around with grabbing video of my rides for a while and I'm thinking about starting to share them online. One of the blockers was definitely in helmet audio. I've tried various lapel mics, either with a separate USB adaptor or just built as a USB-C mic, and always have the same problem. The audio signal is just too hot, and the constant clipping makes it unusable. I'm happy to say that the DJI mic mini has finally solved that hurdle, at least up to 70mph, and I don't usually ride much faster than that anyway.

Last piece of gear I want to pick up to complete the setup is one of those Zoom handy recorders, to be placed behind me as a dedicated engine/exhaust sound capture.

The basis of the channel is going to be getting into riding cheap. If you watch the average influencer on YouTube or Instagram they pretty much all have thousands of dollars in riding gear and brand new bikes. The ones covering moto- camping have even more specialized and expensive gear. You would think based on that media that riding is only for the wealthy. Well, I ride a late 70s UJM, all over, with cheap gear and a pretty much improvised camping setup. I think that needs to be shown.

Of course most of my longer rides involve destinations where I stop often and take a lot of photos, so the plan is to work that into the videos and add some stills here and there, surrounded by footage from riding around the areas they were taken.

Not looking to become internet famous. A lot of the idea is just because I want those recordings for myself, and for my kids and (hopefully someday) grandkids. But who knows?

In my Agile CS course we were given a couple of fluff pieces about the development process at Amazon and asked to write about how how their methods aligned with Agile methodology, and how that is what keeps them on top.

I couldn't do it. My paper was basically about enshittification, and how they are a perfect example of what not to do.

Here's hoping my grade doesn't tank. If it dies, so be it.
