The idea of water bankruptcy makes clear that scarcity isn’t a future risk, it’s already shaping what’s viable.

Food systems sit at the center of this problem: agriculture dominates freshwater use, yet much of it is lost through inefficiency. Framed this way, CEA isn’t about maximizing yield, it’s about decoupling food production from water depletion through closed-loop, high-efficiency systems.

When water is the constraint, efficiency is the ROI.
