@carnage4life It's almost entirely an anti-Biden (or rather, perceived anti-Biden economy) vote. This is now the second obvious case of a decent liberal, elderly person who aged into a "Only I can do it!" hubris mindset and didn't step aside in time. In the case of Biden, he promised to only run once as a "transitional" figure, but hubris got the best of him. The other obvious case was Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who refused to resign in a timely manner and inadvertently set the stage for the MAGA-takeover of the Supreme Court. Both well meaning people, who didn't know when to give up the car keys. And we're all paying for it.

Like you, I've been absorbing the news today. As I write this, it looks more and more possible that the American experiment will end in January.
I'll be back tomorrow, but right now I just want to wait and see.
PS: To all the journalists who barely deigned to notice the likelihood that the next president would be an outright fascist – and did nothing to stop him – you have my contempt.

@[email protected] Kung Fu Monkey gave a pretty solid argument for 27% 'Crazification Factor' way back in 2005 in reference to the Obama v Keyes Senate race in Illinois. Looks like that number has increased a bit since then.
