#writerscoffeeclub 4: What’s your beverage and snack of choice when writing?
Coffee in the morning. Pellegrino the rest of the day. No snacks while writing. Boring. Like really boring.
MY chicken!
#writerscoffeeclub Sept 3: Is there one piece of well-known writing advice you ignore?
“Maybe you should get a job.”
“Thanks, Mom.”
#writerscoffeeclub 2: On a scale of plotter to pantser what are you?
Mostly pantser. I always start with a sentence. Not a one-sentence plot or concept, just a sentence that is vibrating in my brain. If I’m lucky, the story is floating behind that sentence. I make notes of characters, places, events, etc. That’s just a brain dump. I have a novel idea, also a sentence. I’ll write a 10-20 page synopsis, what I think the plot will be. But really I put one sentence after another until I’m done.
#writerscoffeeclub Day 1-Intro: Shameless Self Promotion. Tell us about yourself, your published work or wip.
Hello. A friend suggested I needed to make more effort to connect with others on Mastodon. Thinking this might be appropriate place for me. I’m embarking on a life reboot, changing (regaining?) focus and trying to recover from the left turn I took years ago. Sold a screenplay once, then walked away from writing entirely. Re-learning how to write stories. Curious to see where it goes.
