Q Anon style conspiracies are no longer niche but instead influencing government policy at the federal and state level from vaccine denial to removing fluoride from the water.

Progress isn’t a straight line. It’s sad to think we got complacent by thinking it was.

The goal of the tariffs is to pay for income tax cuts by replacing them with a sales/import tax.

Tax changes like these disproportionately affect the poor & middle class as they spend more of their income on goods than rich people who tend to buy investments like property and stock with their wealth, not Chinese goods.

The idea that prompt engineering would be a major new career path created by AI waa always silly.

It was like thinking that Google searcher would be a major new career as opposed to a skill that everyone has to varying degrees.

It seems there’s a broad backlash against dating apps underway. I’ve long felt the industry has two major challenges

• the business models like subscriptions and paying for visibility seem incompatible with helping people quickly find a meaningful relationship.
• matches follows a power law where the most eligible men get too much interest while the average gets too little.

I don’t think you can tweak the apps to fix these issues. These are fundamental issues.
