knowledge management is where I have my professional focus on. I have a broad interest in the subject and love to use cool technology. However, it's the people and culture aspect I feel most drawn too.

Wondering about all the recent Microsoft product renames, I just learned there’s a site that tracks them:

P.S. I let author already know that the recent renaming of MS AI Foundry to MS Foundry is missing...

The question “Should this content go into an existing Confluence space or do we need a new one?” is common. We realized this can be explained with a simple metaphor: a space is like a house, and pages are rooms. Sometimes you rent a room, sometimes you need to buy a house. It’s a neat way to describe the characteristics and trade-offs to content owners.

Running your own email server since more than 15 years definitely helps:

I scored 19/21 on https://e-mail.wtf and all I got was this lousy text to share on social media.

Demnächst Gemeindeversammlung zur Teilrevision der Richt- und Nutzungsplanung. Viele Seiten Unterlagen!
Habe sie in Google NotebookLM geladen und mir eine Audio-Zusammenfassung erstellen lassen – sogar auf Deutsch top.
Zeigt schön: KI hilft nicht nur im Business mit Informationsflut, sondern auch im Alltag.

Tried to transcribe an MP3 from a SIKM CoP call with Gemini and ChatGPT… no luck.
ChatGPT then pointed me to Whisper - installed it, and wow, couldn’t believe how simple it is to install and use.

Now I see why you’re such a fan, @simondueckert Runs locally, great quality, super smooth. I’m sold.

Correction. Thanks to this post (https://www.reddit.com/r/GoogleSupport/comments/1awh62t/comment/n4paf8n/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button), just found out that the auto-synch was disabled and this solved it in my case. However, it seems to be an issue in Germany where the script approach is required anyhow.
#TIL that Google Calendar no longer shows birthdays from Google Contacts (at least in Switzerland). Also discovered https://script.google.com, a platform where you can run scripts to mimic this feature: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GrGT8SWs-8

A thought I have after attending #loscon25: Conference conversations feel more fragmented in the AI era. Everyone's at different adoption stages with different terminology, but unlike previous tech waves, we haven't developed common practices to build discussions on. Harder to connect beyond small talk without shared foundations.
Collective sense-making around the evolving relationship between humans and AI is a central theme at this year's #loscon25. One pressing challenge I foresee is managing information overload in a world where anyone can deploy their own AI agents to interact with others. Navigating this complexity will be crucial for meaningful communication and collaboration.

#TIL Scheduling a message in Microsoft Teams doesn't work when you're trying to post to multiple channels at once.

If you need to schedule a message, make sure you're only posting to one channel - otherwise, the scheduling option disappears.
