Do zobaczenia w piątek 8.05. o 18!

Researchers just mathematically proved that AI can't recursively self-improve its way to superintelligence.

Not "we think it's unlikely." Not "it seems hard." Formally proved.

The model doesn't climb toward AGI — it slowly forgets what reality looks like. They call it model collapse. The math calls it inevitable.
I wrote about it 👇

AI Cannot Self Improve and Math behind PROVES IT! - devsimsek's Blog

A new arXiv paper formally proves that recursive self-improvement in LLMs is mathematically impossible - the mechanism everyone believed would lead to superintelligence is actually a one-way ticket to model collapse. Let's unpack it.

The horror! The horror!

How billionaires, one in particular, are destroying the night sky and astronomy.

This is a pic of Comet C/2025 R3 (PanSTARRS), trapped in a celestial cage of light streaks formed by LEO satellites racing across the sky in this 10-minute exposure image.

This is with ~10,000 orbiting satellites. Now, imagine a million of them, each with a solar array ~10x larger.

You know that common joke about the scissors that come packaged in a blister pack which requires scissors to open? Well, I just bought a screwdriver which was secured in the packaging with a screw 😂
Nie małżeństwa, a małżeństwo. Rząd chce ograniczyć skutki wyroku NSA do konkretnej pary [NASZ NEWS]

Rząd chce, żeby tylko Jakub i Mateusz, którzy wzięli ślub w Niemczech, dostali akt małżeństwa z orzełkiem. Na drodze do uznania praw innych małżeństw zawartych za granicą stoją MSWiA i KPRM. Przy boku premiera powstał nawet specjalny zespół, którego celem jest ograniczenie skutków przełomowych orzeczeń

A researcher invented a fake eye condition called bixonimania, uploaded two obviously fraudulent papers about it to an academic server, and watched major AI systems present it as real medicine within weeks.

The fake papers thanked Starfleet Academy, cited funding from the Professor Sideshow Bob Foundation and the University of Fellowship of the Ring, and stated mid-paper that the entire thing was made up. Google's Gemini told users it was caused by blue light. Perplexity cited its prevalence at one in 90,000 people.

ChatGPT advised users whether their symptoms matched. The fake research was then cited in a peer-reviewed journal that only retracted it after Nature contacted the publisher.

Scientists invented a fake disease. AI told people it was real

Bixonimania doesn’t exist except in a clutch of obviously bogus academic papers. So why did AI chatbots warn people about this fictional illness?

Google Maps also stopped showing connections that involve walks longer than 500 meters. It'll just be like "no its impossible to reach the other end of Berlin in half an hour by public transport. You need to change 6 times". Because it refuses to let me cross a bridge to another busstation because US brained people dont believe in legs.
