Finished cleaning up the cabling and getting the Beelink properly installed in the minirack. Overall, I miss the Pis because they looked pretty cool, but I'm not gonna complain: this looks pretty good as well.

The doggo wasn't quite as impressed.

The standalone Proxmox server is basically done at this point, all three DNS servers are online and secure, the Tailscale VM is online after completely forgetting that it was running on one of the Raspberry Pis, and the `authentik` instance that I'm gonna need to work on tomorrow.

Hey, folks. I hate doing this, but my family and I need help with money for food & gas. This is unfortunately going to be a regular request until I can get a new job. (See my pinned posts for my resume.)

We average about $35/day for food (2 adults, 2 kids) and $10/day for gas, if we are being cheap. Dog food is $22/week. So we need around $335-$340 to make it through the week, making sure everyone is fed and gets to school. Any help, however small, is deeply appreciated.

Please boost for reach! And remember, you can unboost and boost again to keep it visible.

Week of Dec 21:
Progress: $350/$340

(Thank you again, folks, for helping out a couple of weeks ago with the bills we had to pay.)

Started migrating services off of the RPis and onto the new #Proxmox server. The initial install went fairly smoothly, got the VLANs configured, and then setup the new primary DNS server. That took longer than it should have, but I will say this: the VM is so much more snappy than the Pi. Next up is the secondary DNS server.

Okay, after a bit of work in #vlang:

- I think I prefer golang though I really prefer the error system of `v`.
- I enjoy writing code in `nim` more than `v`. While I do enjoy `v` more than `rust`, the documentation and support extensions are better for almost every other language which makes things difficult starting out.

Reminder for #DevOps, #SRE, and other programming types. You have now passed the last point to push to production for 2025. Pushing to production now means you risk debugging your fixes next week sat in your childhood bedroom, on dodgy WiFi, while your uncle makes rude and sexist remarks with your partner downstairs. Don't risk it. Your changes can wait until 2026.

So, decided to give #vlang a go for a bit and it's not horrible. Not sure if I'm a fan yet, but it's fast and doesn't fight me too much. I prefer the error handling though, it's damned nice.

Okay, I'm done with the SMB2 theme for the time being. Got the chords annotated, tweaked a bit of the tab to make it easier.

Figured I'd post the sheet music/tab for the bassline because it's a fun walk. Also, love anything in the key of C.

Things that are really fun to play and are deceptively difficult: the Super Mario Brothers 2 theme bassline at 185 bpm. Things that have killed my fingers today: also the SMB2 theme bassline...
