The Feb lightning talks meeting is always the best LRUG of the year - hope to see you there!
Here @lunduke complains about "exclusionary" behaviour, yet insists on flippantly misgendering (linked below). This isn't "activism", it's holding the line for basic human dignity.
Is it any wonder people feel hostile?
You shouldn't be surprised that people don't want you in their community or project if this is how you act. Nobody owes you anything.
Gatekeeping.
Honest #Ruby/#Rails question…
If you love using a write-HTML-in-Ruby tools, why?
What does it do for you?
Historically:
Markaby, markaby, mab, Slim, Haml, …
Recently:
ViewComponent, Glimmer, Phlex…
Asking genuinely, respectfully, is it that you don't like / don't want to write HTML?

I have also been trying to write about this for many weeks now, oscillating between "I must say something!" and "what's the point?".
But reading this helped me reach my conclusion, which echoes that of @tom's original framing of The Problem: the way to respond to David's voice is with the voice of as many others as possible.
I'm glad you contributed yours; I hope to add mine soon too.

We were honored to attend the Human Rights Campaign’s National Dinner this past weekend. It was a fabulous evening of connection and celebration, bringing together leaders and advocates committed to building a more inclusive future.
Moments like this remind us how important it is to stand for equality and show up in spaces where community and courage are at the center. Ruby Central is proud to celebrate alongside so many who continue to lead with purpose.
