It's a nice feeling of achieving something, even though from the beginning I had no idea why I'm doing this instead of fonts, but here we go: I made a blog/archive on my website, I plan to document my months with pictures and text with decreased anxiety. Next step: to make RSS, I wonder if people still use itđź«

My role in Momochidori was designing the Latin part, which now has been released as “Chidori”. There’s a bit more flexibility in drawing the Latin (since I don’t have to deal with heavy ideographs), so the axes are more extreme. In Chidori, it’s possible to go heavier, lighter, and tighter. The variable axes makes the family fun to use – I enjoyed making these samples, in which I reproduced signs seen in my surroundings.

sooo obviously somebody ripped of/felt very closely inspired by Cosm and won a TDC with it? 🤡

Was inspired to play with semi justified texts by the talk of Fraser Muggeridge at this years automatic type design conference. It is quite interesting to see how the texture changes.

If you missed the talk you can still watch it here: https://anrt-nancy.fr/en/videos/filter:symposiums#video-1059643515

Releasing a single style for a font without having a plan for the family is like making a movie without having a plan for making it a trilogy. Which can work out really well, like in Star Wars or really bad like also in Star Wars.
I graduated from @esadtype about a month ago with my diploma project, Aksan. Here are some images for you!
Aksan is a font family that reflects the transformation of writing and the evolution of typography. Inspired by the Letter Revolution in Turkey, this typeface family combines strong visual references of the past with today’s design sensibility for a character that is both nostalgic and modern; creating a contemporary take on Turkish typographic identity.
