There's a scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where Indi and his father have been captured by Nazis after Indi's girlfriend betrayed them.

Indi quietly asks his dad, "How did you know she was a Nazi?"

His father replies, "She talks in her sleep."

Indi does a double-take.

When I first saw that movie I was about 8, sitting cross-legged on the carpet in my parents' house, way too close to their CRT television. I thought, "Nazis talk in their sleep? What an interesting piece of trivia."

8 years ago, I dedicated a book called 300 Minutes of Danger to my agent, Clare Forster at Curtis Brown, "without whom I couldn't be a writer." Today the box set of the series hit #1 on Amazon.
Clare would say she was just a facilitator and I did the hard work, because inflating my ego is one of the many tasks at which she excels. But just this once, let me remind all the world's readers that their favourite authors probably couldn't afford to write if not for their quietly wonderful agents.
In 2010 I published a novel in which a Google AI chatbot gains sentience. In 2012 I wrote one which featured a coronavirus epidemic and a conflict on the Russia/Ukraine border. In 2022 I published a book about Chinese spy vessels in US airspace. Get it before the CIA kidnaps me: jackheathwriter.com/headcase
I found myself asking #ChatGPT for reassurance about my career. The results were... mixed.
