A person from šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡Ŗ

I’m a designer, engineer, leader, manager, writer, maker, producer, dad, husband, and Estonian. Not necessarily in that order.

Please donate to šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡¦ until the šŸ—‘šŸ‡·šŸ‡ŗ terrorist invaders are gone. You can give to https://ukraineaidops.org or any other respected charity that works for you.

@kattiidenberg bold. Respect.

@petermhz šŸ˜‚ no. You beat it, so all is well. Just to hide it from people not so interested in Wordle.

It’s interesting to watch the culture around CW evolve. It was a big deal in ā€œold Mastodon.ā€ Many coming from Twitter don’t get it. I think it is a good tool to have, conventions around it still in flux.

@petermhz this is a good use for Content Warning.

@atomicpoet I agree with everything that you say. Just pointing out that ā€œcensorshipā€ and ā€œfree speechā€ might be loaded and incorrect terms to use in this context by all parties.

ā€œFree speechā€ means government cannot censor you. Fediverse thankfully has nothing to do with the government. As you rightly say, everyone is free to set up their own nodes, and be responsible for all the consequences of the speech that they limit (or don’t).

@teller old picture? Should be snow there right now ā„ļøšŸ˜€

All right! I'm creating some community moderation feature requests on #Mastodon, and I'm going to drop links in this thread each time they're created.

The feature requests are:

1. Turn off comments
2. Lock comments
3. Approve comments
4. Flair profiles
5. Adjust crowd control

Will add updates!

@303 people need jobs. Especially at good companies with not-terrible managers and culture. I like seeing the stream of what someone is working on, job posts, also new project announcements.

I will release justtact.com in iOS and macOS app stores in a few days (already approved, just need to work on some supporting materials) and I am going to totally broadcast it here.

@303 why guilty? It’s an honest job, and great post, and one of the nicest URLs I’ve seen lately.
I recently learned that German company Telefunken arguably invented the computer mouse. They offered a ā€œRollkugelsteuerungā€ (ā€œrolling ball controlā€) for one of their mainframes in 1968, months before Douglas Engelbart’s ā€œmother of all demosā€. Telefunken’s mouse was also more advanced than Engelbart’s mouse as it used a ball instead of two wheels. (Photo credit:

@mattgemmell and: ā€œfreedom of speechā€ originally means the government cannot suppress you. These servers are not government. They’re private spaces created and run by private people. Who have every bit of right to create and enforce rules that result in a supportive environment.
