It annoyed me to no end that I couldn’t see my #digikam photo gallery on my #iPhone. I built a gallery app that uses a folder on your iPhone as source of truth and generates memories, extracts search term and people from metadata. I just spent 5 hours exporting 30,000 photos from Apple Photos. Had to do it in 30 batches because the export crashes.
Apple's solution for removing synced photos? 'Turn on iCloud Photos.' After 20 years, I'm done and moving to Linux.

I don't get it. When did we all decide that it's acceptable to have cameras and microphones in our spaces, recording our every move and word - and some faceless AI deciding whether we say or do the wrong thing at a given time.
