is anyone surprised that bluesky can't be trusted? we're just gonna keep going through this over and over again if people keep deciding to use networks run by corporations with private interests and control over the entire platform. i don't understand why the masses keep doing this. soon enough, a new replacement run by another billionaire will pop up, and everyone will move there until they also turn out to not have our best interests at heart, because they literally never have or will. but i guess fedi is too hard because you have to pick a server 🤯

honestly i don't hate suburban life nearly as much as i thought i would, coming from a very rural area.
i don't like how everything is clustered together and there's cars everywhere, but it's pretty great that i can get home from work in about 40 minutes by using public transit.
where i'm from, having a car is basically mandatory to go anywhere, and the nearest grocery store is a 15 minute drive away, but here it's a 15 minute walk.
tbh i hope to never own a car again, at least not the kind that's a big gas-powered death machine or a computer on wheels with drm. not sure if there's anything in between but it's not my problem rn lol
