@ottaross @lmgenealogy One account I follow on here said this morning “curling is the pickleball of the Winter Olympics” and as a Canadian I can’t even.
@DJDarren @Gogs “When You’re Next to Me” is just too good to even be on the soundtrack. Even more poignant today.
@ottaross newf-in-LAND and lab-ra-DOR! (not LA-bruh-dor)

@paulbusch oh I like this list. Could I suggest “Come and I will sing you” by Great Big Sea… the carol is also known as “O Green Grow the Rushes”, and is often sung at Christmas. Even though the lyrics aren’t overtly/explicitly Christmas-oriented they’re usually interpreted that way, and the song builds up over 12 verses kind of like “The Twelve Days of Christmas”. Great song.

@ottaross I think I’ve only done that twice for authors I previously enjoyed, and both stuck with me.

First was Whirlwind by James Clavell. Loved every single one of his other books. Just could not get through this one.

The other was Stephenson’s Baroque Cycle. I took three runs at it because I really wanted to like it. Nope.

May the gods have mercy on us all. Again.
