@nickheer Same with the Trust this Browser in Apple Developer account.
@harmash This would be a good idea for a video on your channel. Talking about this at length.
@nemesisprime Unfortunately it's kind of the opposite for me. Programming used to be equally fun and challenging. With AI, the challenging part is mostly gone. Fixing a bug after banging your head against it for hours or finishing a complex feature just doesn't give that same dopamine hit anymore. AI tools are a huge time saver for sure. But it just doesn't feel....fun.
I don't know how these companies are building compilers and shit with AI. It wasted 3 hours of my day because it couldn't figure out a camel case, pascal case mismatch causing routing to fail in a next.js app.
@codingpanic I switched to Bitwarden a while ago and then one morning couldn't log in to the account for half a day because their server was down for maintenence so I promptly left. Who makes a password manager server dependent all the time! @simonbs
Mobile native devs have a lot of thoughts about #Flutter but one thing I'll praise them for is their documentation, especially regarding topics like architecture. Sure, the community can come up with their own styles but having a recommendation (https://docs.flutter.dev/app-architecture/guide) from the official team really builds trust in developers, unlike telling them to "We'll just leave it to the devs to figure it out" ahem...
Guide to app architecture

The recommended way to architect a Flutter app.

"your change did not fix the issue. i want my usage credits back".
@jordan @BasicAppleGuy And now we have the equally ugly light-hitting-the-icon-from-the-side look on icons. We have none of the creativity but all the bad parts from the past.
@harmash I work on an M1 too but it's still chugging along, albeit taking a little time for loading previews. Just the other day I was thinking how incredible that a 6 year old computer is still a decent machine to use.
@andy I have used Claude for working on 2 apps now and it's been pretty great. I'm on the $20/month Pro plan and it's been enough for me. Claude still doesn't always know the latest and greatest SwiftUI stuff (like certain view modifiers, views and formatters), so I've had to nudge it in the right direction here and there but overall it's been a positive experience.
