You can see the source of the data at the bottom of the graph: Revelio Labs

But the graph itself was made by the Economist: https://www.economist.com/business/2026/03/01/at-last-reasons-to-be-cheerful-about-european-tech

Cyprus (an EU member state) is geographically considered to be a West Asian country and is internationally recognized as such: https://unstats.un.org/unsd/methodology/m49/#geo-regions

Georgia (an EU candidate country) and Armenia (who is planing to apply for EU candidacy) are also considered to be West Asian geographically. They are also both members of the Council of Europe.

Btw these were the MEPs from Magyar's TISZA party during Zelenskyy's speech in the European Parliament:

@VikingChieftain @eunews

He has to be careful with what he says because during the last election the Orban propaganda media has smeared opposition candidates with a bunch of lies, misrepresentations and strawmans. For example, they strawmanned and lied about statements from opposition candidates that were about support for Ukraine, claiming they want to forcibly draft every Hungarian and send all of them to the frontline as cannon fodder. In the article you've sent they also alluded to this:

EU Council has withdrawn the vote on Chat Control

The EU Council and its participants have decided to withdraw the vote on the contentious Chat Control plan proposed by Belgium, the current EU President.
