Not actually a cat in real life, just a cat herder

Big fan of alt text and captions

@thomasfuchs Right, I forget you do the digital photography angle, not just observation. PS Align Pro is good for me setting up my star tracker mount, but I'm not taking deep sky so I can fudge things a bit.
@thomasfuchs Do you not have the PS Align app? I use it all the time and it's greatly reduced how long it takes to polar align my skywatcher mount
@shortstack Holy carp, congratulations!
@lauren At my old job, the head of the company wasted two weeks of our time trying to pick out the exact shade of our re-branded logo to paint an accent wall in each office. We had just rented this space and the office move-in was delayed over a month because of this

@tutwilly

Ha. A former software vendor that made a sql db package which hosted financial data was real big on their tomcat front end for people to be able to login and see their project budgets.

Except it was plaintext, and when we asked how to add a cert they also said nobody had ever asked them before. Knowing their client list, I'm incredibly suspicious of that claim....

@malassettre @coleens_

Politicians do try to raise the retirement age, tho. Every few years, both Democrats and republicans (but mostly republicans) float a bill to make 67 or 68 the new retirement age.

Also, term limits doesn't solve this problem, it only makes so there is no institutional knowledge remaining and turns government over even more to lobbyists and monied interests.

@tutwilly Yeah, I would not. It's just very ironic to me the manager fancies himself a cybersecurity expert and can't be bothered to learn the systems he's ostensibly in charge of
@mkonda I have a credit union account that refuses to adopt 2fa/mfa -- except in the case of changing your password, or something like that

Don't fall for firms pushing "voice verification" bypasses.

A suggestion. If a firm you deal with offers to sign you up for a "voice verification" service that bypasses PINs, passwords, etc., you would be wise to decline. There are increasing reports of online AI voice generators being used to defraud customers via these systems. And the situation is likely to only be getting worse.
