@pharmacistjudge back when I still played paper Magic I would bring a standard deck to every con I went to. But the magic events would almost always be limited events so the vendors running them could move units (not criticising just that’s how they had to make their money to cover their expenses). Unfortunately few people wanted to play casual games outside of the organised events
