the Black Radicalism reading group is starting up again and our first meeting for the fall semester is tomorrow. SO. PUMPED. We're working through Of Black Study (2022) by Joshua Myers with additional weekly articles from authors highlighted in the book. I started reading the introduction at an emotional low point and, genuinely, my heart was vitalized just after reading the first few pages.

for some reason downloads from Sage have some fucked typographic errors in the text that I find VERY distracting, but ironically much more so when someone cites well-known affect theory folks in the body of the text
10 years. this actually brought a smile to my face.

so i got my birthday present early: therapy gun!!!! it is exactly as awesome as I hoped it would be. very happy 😭
and now that it is here, hard not to start thinking about a dissertation chapter on therapy guns
i have no doubt in my mind that the people in charge of instituting and policing content moderation workers will review critical evaluations of their workspaces and conclude that the problem is the degree to which workers are exploited, surveilled, and dehumanized, not that any one of these circumstance is problematic on its own.
