ICE in the USA is using a company called Flock to create mass surveillance cameras and information from the internet in order to find people and they are also occasionally using it to stock people for personal reasons. This should be illegal to have that much information. @DemocracyMattersALot @conservativeforever_v3 @LiberalWombat @BBCNews @FoxNews @groundnews @mayormamdani @Trump @techlore @signalapp @protonprivacy @privacytools @theprivacydad @anonymous @repmoulton @RepDonBeyer @randpaul
@DemocracyMattersALot what types of work are allowed if any? Firefighters, EMS, Hospital staff? Can order stuff if it's non American?
@njordomir @asiago I think it should all just be customizable by the user, I think the new update is way better looking aesthetic-wise but I totally understand your view. Just shouldn't be forced one way or the other
@Strayce @asiago I love it but I moved from iphone
@sunth1ef @MalReynolds yep no need to attack the others. Everyone who would even look at mastodon already knows gos is better than Eos or whatever else. No need to attack them
@MalReynolds @KindnessInfinity so true, they need to be more silent. No need to defend every allegation on social media. People are mostly aware that GOS is the best for privacy and security

While I use gOS and have a high respect for their technical skills and exemplary ethics and recognize the very real need for it, and the great work they’ve done upstreaming security for the greater android community, but my god there’s a lot of drama associated, both internally and externally. They would be far better served with a calm and professional press presence. I have their mastodon feed in my RSS and at least monthly there’s a flood of rant and screed about some press coverage or someone using their (GPL I think) stuff. Generally speaking they have a valid point in there, but the tone is off, a bit of taking the piss (humour) would go a long way.

Sometimes I fear they will implode and we’ll lose this oh so necessary project.

@SignalUpdateInfo signal should boycott AWS and other antiprivacy companies
