#Seismic travel times suggest that "#innercore rotation has recently paused. This seems to be associated with gradual turning-back of inner core as part of ~7 decade oscillation, which coincides with changes in several other #geophysical observations."

Multidecadal variation of the Earth’s inner-core rotation - Nature Geoscience

Multidecadal oscillation of the Earth’s inner core, coinciding with length of day and magnetic field variations, is experiencing a pause and reversing, according to analysis of repeating seismic waves traversing the inner core since the 1960s.

Fifty years ago! How time and geological hammers fly.
Opening a new coal mine in Cumbria has nothing to do with the energy crisis (it is not thermal coal) nor steel (British Steel don’t want it, it has too much sulphur). This is about pandering to the right wing, spurious brexit ‘benefits’, misdirection from the state of the country and the winter of discontent, payback for the eco-protests and part of the culture war on the ‘woke’. Trashing Britain’s reputation and trashing the planet just to ‘own the libs’ for a short while.
