Most interesting #39c3 info - although I don’t expect anything close to pre-renovation levels 😕

Last year was so bad that the Hutzelbude was a better lounge - and yes - I am fully aware that the focus of the congress is not the Lounge but it used to be so good and epic that I’m still missing it 🥳 Anyway - see you soon - over and out - sincerely, Lounge Inspector Hukl 🕵

One thing I really enjoy about FreeBSD as a server OS is looking at `top` and seeing nothing but the essentials running.
"These issues do not affect the serving of cached files" … are you sure about that … ?
Die Specs von diesem Thunderbolt Dock sind schon interessant … aber bei dieser BS auto Übersetzung kann ich das Produkt leider nicht ernst nehmen :)
Found an old german 10 Pfennig coin which had a very dark patina. Applied my Proxxon (Dremel equivalent) with a polishing tool to it and now it's so shiny and reflective it doesn't look real anymore :D
We’ll have some time until they take over

In case you wondered how a jet engine works, Rolls Royce has this handy illustration.

Back in the day "Burn" was "Bang" so the "mantra" would've been: "Suck Squeeze Bang Blow"

Looking into more into the etymology of aviation terms, you really got to wonder what those terms would be if it wouldn't have been a male dominated field especially in the early days.

Applies to other fields as well but aviation has the most blatant dick swinging vocabulary.

In other news: I'm almost ready for an early release of my minimal podcast backend written in Elixir. I've been chipping away at it an hour here and there whenever I have time and/or the capacity.

Last night I made a Container/Dockerfile for it as well - so you container folks could host it with ease. Also did some simple local benchmarks.

First screenshot when it was running in Docker (on macOS host) and second screenshot was running directly on host.

This was with 39 episodes

What renders a podcast html page and rss feed faster than 1ms, works without a traditional DB, any asset pipelines or frameworks and without PHP?

I tell you when I have time to convert a very early and hacky protoype to something releasable :) Got to finish other things first.

But I'm quite happy with this 2h end of day protoype :D
