Your Tax Day reminder that the IRS estimates billionaires evade $150B in annual taxes & DOL estimates $50B in annual wage theft.

That $200B could pay for 4 year public college, insulin for all who need it, & end homelessness in America.

We can satisfy those in need—but not billionaire greed.

Tax billionaires. Invest in working people. Save our economy.

Let's give kids free lunch so they don't starve
GOP: Nothing is free—make parents pay

OK lets ensure workers get a living wage
GOP: No, free market dictates

OK lets end corporate tax subsidies
GOP: No, they need tax free support

But you just nothing is fr—
GOP: Stop your DEI!!

Sadly, this is the state of American politics today. Let's get corporate money out of politics & elect people actually committed to people.

March is Women’s History Month.

A reminder that after no fault divorce was finally legalized in 1970, female suicide rates dropped 20%.🤯

The "strong 1950s family unit" GOP is nostalgic about ignores record high female suicide, suffocating domestic violence, & zero female financial autonomy.

Or maybe that’s the GOP’s goal.😐

Did you know that the USA has *never* elected a Pakistani American to Congress?

I’d be the first—ever.

My campaign for Congress in IL-11 is about economic, climate, & social Justice. And it’s about representation, because representation matters.

How amazing a rebuke to bigotry if Americans stood United for justice & helped me make history? I need your support. Join my campaign for US Congress. Sign up to volunteer and donate any amount at www.qasimrashid.com — because justice cant wait.

Auto workers are demanding a 40% raise to match the 40% pay increase CEOs of the Detroit automakers got over the past 4 years.

CEOs are calling this absurd, but they couldn't be more wrong.

THIS IS A COMPROMISE. Why? Because worker's real wages have fallen 30% over the past 20 years. They're foregoing 16 years of wage theft for 4 of equity, and consistent equity going forward. That's basic justice.

Pay workers. Unionize workers. Tax billionaires. Save our economy.

The Trump Indictment count is now 91.🫨

Let's be clear.

Trump was NOT indicted by Biden, Clinton, Soros, Big Bird, Target, Wokeness, Disney, pride flag, CRT, or Barbie. Trump was indicted by private citizens—as the US Constitution requires. (And most witnesses were Republican).

From 1940s-1980, the wealthiest paid 70-94% marginal tax rates. Zero of them went broke from taxation. Zero of them left the USA. All remained exceedingly wealthy, manufacturing boomed, AND we had the strongest middle class growth in US History.

Let's do that again. #TaxTheRich

I attended an interfaith event last Friday & the evangelical pastor lamented to me,"America's lost her way because we've forgotten Jesus."

I responded, "As a Muslim I love Jesus too—but when exactly would you say America 'followed' Jesus? Was it during Native Genocide? Slavery? Jim Crow? Denying women equal rights? While invading Iraq?”

Deafening silence.

If you want to show me your faith, first show me your service to ALL humanity—regardless of faith or no faith. B/c faith w/o works is dead.

It's Women's History Month. Here's the world men have forced on women:
1848: Married women's property act passed
1920: Beating women criminalized
1921: White women get voting rights—Asian women (1952), Native women (1962), Black women (1965), Hispanic women (1975)
1970: No fault divorce legalized
1974: Equal credit opportunity act let women have independent credit
1981: First women on SCOTUS
1993: Marital rape criminalized
2022: Roe v Wade overturned
2023: ERA still not law
Men—we must do better

Today on the first day of Women’s History Month I learned that after no fault divorce was finally legalized in 1970, female suicide rates dropped 20%🤯

The "strong 1950s family unit" that the GOP is nostalgic about ignores record high female suicide, suffocating domestic violence, & zero female financial autonomy.

But maybe that's GOP's goal all along?🤔
