Two start-ups from Ladakh which I have been most impressed with recently - Looms of Ladakh and even better Nomadic Woolen Mills. Can one of them, with investment, become the Begg (my favourite Scottish cashmere brand) of India? Esp since 'cashmere' comes from Kashmir!
Almost all the hatred, the abuse, the madness on Twitter was generated by anonymous accounts where people could say whatever they liked without any accountability. It brought out the worst in them. Anonymous accounts have always been the problem in Twitter.
If Mastadon wants to retain a healthy conversation, productive (if vigorous) debate and keep all of us who have moved here, it only needs to do one thing - NO ANONYMOUS ACCOUNTS. It is a simple fix to all the problems.

The painting that you see on my profile is Gaganendranath Tagore's Pratima Visarjan. I love this painting. The light glows above the darkness emanating as it were from the goddess herself and I always feel like that light is shining right upon me when I see this painting.

One question that springs to mind seeing the arrival of the next generation of social media platforms is: despite all the talk and braggadocio in India, finally, such platforms were not built in India. There is too much talk and too little action in India. This is something we must change.
One of the best books I have read recently is Ambassador Phunchok Stobdan's The Great Game in the Buddhist Himalayas. Recommend.
