Does a higher cognitive ability generally lead to earning more money? Above a certain level, no - according to a large 10-year study of 59,000 Swedish men.

"How can you justify this enormous wage gap? You can’t. As studies such as this make clear, it’s not meritocracy that is driving the wage gap; it’s plain old greed."

It’s official: billionaires aren’t the brainboxes they like to believe

The obscene wealth of many CEOs is less a result of intelligence and more down to luck, background and personality, writes Arwa Mahdawi

Happy 97th Birthday to Sir #DavidAttenborough 🌿

A living legend who reflects the very best of humanity.

"Many individuals are doing what they can. But real success can only come if there is a change in our societies and in our economics and in our politics."

It's always a great mystery... Like when spending 5 minutes looking for a pen you were already holding in your "invisible" hand 🥴

And breathe that clean, freeezing air! I'm back in the UK for a while. From toxic smog and oppressive heat, which make living in Thailand at this time of year hard, to a cold spring in the UK.

My internal thermostat is in shock 🥶 But I'll never tire of this air or these views.

I'm now also 43 and fitter than I've ever been. I only started running on and off 1.5 years ago and have since set myself big goals, some of which I've already achieved.

With determination and dedication - in whatever we do, I believe we can all achieve amazing things.

Great long piece on visiting World Heritage sites and how we can help protect them for generations to come: https://curiositysavestravel.com/unesco-world-heritage-sustainable-travel-guide-and-responsible-travel-tips

Also including a couple of anecdotes from my experiences in Myanmar and Bolivia below 👇🏻 - two of my fav old travel photos.

Curiosity Saves Travel
My mum often sends me #sunset photos and videos from the UK. But this is a particularly special one, with the sound of robins merrily twittering away. Another reminder to look up and around more at all the beauty that surrounds us. With everything going on in the world, it's too easy to forget.

I lived in Berlin for 6 months. Then, on my return to London, I was suddenly acutely aware of the British "sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry" reflex coming from every direction. As if it'd been amplified. And even from those who'd been bumped into.

I know, as I do it myself - sorry 🙏

“I decided in that moment that I was going to be the change I wanted to see...”

An inspiring feature on Martinique Lewis, the incredible trailblazer making #travel better for all of us through her work as an entrepreneur, author and creator of The Black Travel Alliance.

Also some really useful pointers and resources for the black travel community - and to help all of us build, explore and enjoy a more diverse and inclusive travel industry.

Martinique Lewis on rewriting the narrative of Black travel

Martinique Lewis, author of the ABC Travel Greenbook and founder of Black Travel Alliance, talks to Juliet Kinsman about how she became one of the biggest changemakers in travel and how she is re-writing the narrative

Through all this, I started to realise that my cognition could be completely alien elsewhere. That there are other ways of comprehending, remembering and being. Other lenses and other normals. And that, beyond language alone, many of the stories I'd been conditioned to believe throughout my childhood and adolescence in the UK were influenced by some strong bias or incomplete.

I'm certainly now a better listener for all of it.

What about you? What have your experiences been?
