theologically conservative Presbyterian in the PCUSA. I use arch btw

my definition of #wokeness
A belief system that holds individuals or groups collectively accountable for historical wrongs or any other forms of wrongdoing committed against historically oppressed groups through the imposition of shared guilt, regardless of personal involvement.

anything else I should add?

@thenexusofprivacy @Gargron privacy and free speech go hand in hand. This is in no way a bad change
@FediPact W policy tbh
But what exactly is bad about the new moderation changes? Community notes have been tested on X and proven to work so I’m not sure why removing fact checking is bad. Better for free speech and gives more user input.
The “hate speech” excuse doesn’t work. Disagreeing with some IS NOT hate speech no matter how you twist it

Using a tiling WM is legit the best reason to switch to Linux. It actually helps productivity so much and the windows alternatives like komorebi are just so bad
@lukebranson but the fact is that no matter what there will be disagreement about it, its a hot topic.
Imagine a hypothetical country where the government didn't take a stance on abortion and left it up to the private companies. Its possible that the social culture or religious values of this country could largely stop abortions from happening whilst nobody feels like their rights are being violated. Maybe this is a bad take, or I might have not used the best example to convey my thoughts.
I think that I would enjoy living in a #christian theocracy, a theocracy is great for a member of the religion, because the laws enforced by the gvmnt would be the exact same as my existing morals. The issue is for non-christians living there, which will inevitably happen. Take any muslim country for example, where its actually illegal to not be muslim but there are still a crazy amount of atheists. Thats why freedom is religion is important.
I am a #libertarian but dont know specifically where I stand. I am also a (theologically) #conservative #christian. Morally I think #abortion/homosexuality is wrong but I dont see how I can advocate bans. it would be hypocritical for me to want a small goverment that doesnt get involved in my life whilst also wanting that level of control over its citizens. If the goverment has power to ban such things whats stopping them from taking real freedoms? You cant have true freedom without sacrifice.

Is Facebook actually doing something good once? Maybe it’s just so that they can get more market share to train AI users and collect data on more people. It’s a step in the right direction I suppose. The right to free speech is a human right that needs protected.
