@harrisonstephen Something you said during the panel was striking to me, that Wikipedia needs better "messaging" around how it works. To be frank, no amount of facts will override someone's core emotional beliefs about Wikipedia. If anything, attempting to correct the record more often than not will cause people to double down on their pre existing beliefs.
You should not use social media for more than 30 minutes per week.

If you are tired of advertisements all over the Internet, here is your opportunity to support the ad-free alternative.

The WikiTide Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that operates Miraheze, the host of over 10,000 ad-free wikis. We're a very lean, all-volunteer organization. We believe in the power of wikis to help people learn, to build communities, and to grow your imagination.

We're 43% of the way to our goal. A donation of $4 brings us closer. Thank you.

The word "enshittification" is newspeak, a construction of language that diminishes your capacity for critical thought and expression. Instead of using buzzwords that mean little more than "I don't like it," describe what it is you are complaining about.

Recent ideas for new Wikipedia articles:

- Fast rap (it's rap... but fast)
- Radical forgiveness (forgiving the unforgivable for your own healing)
- Cultural depictions of the United States (how Americans portray themselves and are portrayed)
- Generative constraint (when a limitation forces you to be creative)

You should not use social media for more than 30 minutes per week.
I walked out of Jimmy Wales speech at #Wikimania2024 in protest of Fandom's business practices. What the #Wikimedia community needs to understand is that when a wiki decides to leave Fandom, Fandom will refuse to take down the wiki, essentially taking the stance that it is better to keep a community forked than it is to reduce traffic to Fandom. Jimmy Wales has the audacity to run a business that is opposed to the right to fork and then show up to a Wikipedia event like nothing happened.
I will be attending #Wikimania 2024 in Poland.
