@[email protected] yeah that's fair, and generally I adopt trust but verify but there are also times where I'm actually ignorant of a thing and I like being able to say "hey I don't know anything about this, help educate me?"
@916string @georgetakei plus this allows him to remain speaker. I'm trying to remember what exactly the rule was, but there's a rule involving speaker and I want to say a new vote for a speaker can be triggered at any time by a member of the majority party. So if he wants to stay in charge he basically has to appease the trailer queens of the house.

@[email protected] I'll be honest, I don't think "just accept someone at their word" is a particularly good idea. I think it's far better if we were to ask for help in understanding what is and isn't being a dog whistle. Educate rather than blind faith.

"the exploitative nature of the site trying to force you to keep clicking and scrolling for that extra drop of dopamine."
@CodexArcanum @deilann @mekkaokereke I feel like I have a different problem. I can only hear things from people who aren't some kind of authority figure. Unless it's a scientific authority.
