Tomorrow is Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) and the main thing I want to say to cis people is the best way to let the trans people in your life know you see, care about, and support us is by being actively involved in whatever way you can in the battle for our rights. Educate yourself and encourage other cis people in your life to educate themselves on the political attacks around world right now on trans rights, pay attention to who you are voting for, stand up to any transphobia you witness, join activist movements- doing literally anything is better than just sitting back and watching as we fight just to be able to legally and safely exist while powerful people and groups try to make sure we can’t. Just saying “I support trans people” is not enough. We can’t and shouldn’t have to do this alone, so if you actually care about the trans people in your life you need to show us that by stepping up and fighting with and for us.
