Dearest tooters, sad to say its time for us to leave this most excellent network. In Mastodon we see the best possible future of non corporate controlled social media, but we haven't found our community of people concerned with social justice, older people's housing and homelessness. We hope there will be another mammoth migration in the future and will keep our account online here for when it happens. If you do want to keep seeing updates from us let us know and we'll try to keep in touch.

We know that older LGBTQIA+ people face specific life challenges and are less likely to have safe, secure housing they can afford. But we don't have good data about exactly which communities and people need specific help. The ALP is choosing 'Don't ask - Don't tell' over collecting life saving data in the next census https://buff.ly/3yRfEbA
Our Older People’s Housing Forum is bringing the campaign for older people's housing into the biggest house in the state. We hope you can come along or zoom in and help build the political pressure for safe, secure and affordable housing solutions https://buff.ly/3X9j4Qa

You can print money, and you can print houses too! Where there is political will there are technologies to help us out of this housing crisis https://architectureau.com/articles/nsw-soon-to-unveil-its-first-3d-printed-social-housing-project

"The government has more evidence than ever before on what will work to end homelessness. The needed reforms will not only save money but will also be broadly supported by Australians" - but what will it take to make them actually do it!? https://theconversation.com/can-australia-end-homelessness-yes-we-know-how-but-we-must-find-the-will-to-do-it-235879
Can Australia end homelessness? Yes, we know how, but we must find the will to do it

Our governments now have all the evidence they need to end homelessness. The new National Housing and Homelessness Plan is an opportunity to put it into practice.

So great to see the story of our member Guruswamy Perumal captured in the centerfold of @indianlink. Such interesting stories, such a lovely man, and we're so lucky to have him as our event photographer! https://www.indianlink.com.au/guruswamy-perumal-a-life-through-the-lens/

We need a National Housing and Homelessness Plan that legislates for real solutions to end homelessness for everyone. So we welcomed the opportunity to provide input in this submission and hope it can translate to real legislation and real action! https://buff.ly/3YQF4ki
