Today is Elder Abuse Awareness Day. It's a time to come together and stand against the abuse, mistreatment and neglect of older people.
As part of our WEAAD efforts this year, our Executive Officer Fiona York joined a host of experts at Melbourne Town Hall on Thursday, for the launch the #WarmSafeHome exhibition and campaign.
"Any approach to addressing elder abuse that does not also address older people’s housing needs, is one that is doomed to fail," York says.

It's a great opportunity to discuss elder abuse in all its forms, including conversations about respecting older people, and to spread the message that everyone has the right to live in a warm safe home.
