In October 2020 the East Troublesome fire burned through the Arapaho National Forest and eventually into Rocky Mountain National Park. Nearly 3 years later, I hiked through the burn scar to see the wildflower takeover.
ran down to the flattop mountain summit (12,324') before it got too scary but from there to treeline was a mix of rain, graupel, and hail, with thunder crackling all around us.

climbed some more mountains and didnt get struck by lightning
felt close at times, though
made hallett (12,720') just before noon but had to turn back and scrap the rest of the route before things got too electric
