As chances rise of a Joe Biden-Donald Trump rematch in the U.S. presidential election race, America’s allies are bracing for a bumpy ride. Many worry that a second term for Trump would be an earthquake. But tremors already abound and concerns are rising that the U.S. could grow less dependable regardless of who wins. With a divided electorate and gridlock in Congress, the next American president could easily become consumed by manifold challenges at home. That's before even beginning to address flashpoints around the world from Ukraine to the Middle East. Analyst Thomas Gift said that whoever wins the presidential race, the world is headed toward one where the United States is no longer the undisputed superpower.

Late last night, I checked the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, the three major legit networks news sites. None of them were treating this as a big story.

The NYTimes and CNN had it near the top of their front page, but with several stories played bigger. None of the others even had the story on their front pages.

A candidate for president, and a former president, saying he would encourage Russia to attack our allies. Not news.

You know what was big news, presented as a bigger story than this, by orders of magnitude? Trump asking where Nikki Haley's husband is.

The big story should be that a Republican prosecutor didn’t find grounds to charge Biden and inserted gratuitous commentary that aligns with GOP talking-points during an election year in an attempt to influence the outcome. That should really be a huge scandal. #Election2024 #biden #trump
