Mobile Safari is doing this thing where if you scroll a website it will decide you don’t want to scroll the website your scrolling but that you want to open another website. Took me a while to catch this text at the bottom.

In typical Apple fashion this weird niche feature is automatically turned on.

How can this be turned off?!

One of two bonded DSL lines is totally dead. But Brightspeed has been in a nearly constant state of “area outage” for 5 months. “Area outage” clears any scheduled repair appointments and prevents making them.

So even though I’ve been able to set up a new repair appointment every 2-3 weeks when the “area outages” are cleared, so far a new “area outage” cancels the appontments before they occur.

This is beginning to feel like a feature.

Is there any interest in building a meshtastic mesh in cville/albemarle?

My least favorite change in iOS26 is the Personal Hotspot. Its existence is now conditioned on there being a cellular data connection to share.

If the connection drops the hotspot tether drops and the app greys out. So you can’t just tether a device and use the data as it’s available in areas without constant connection - every drop out causes the Hotspot app to go away. Every return of data requires a fresh tether.

Feel like a lot of the unhinged nature of MAGA is due to homeschooling deficits.
I just know there’s no spinning magnetic disc with a head deployed that would suddenly lose power and damage the disc
Too often when I’m using an external drive/usb stick and it becomes time to go my macbook refuses to unmount the drives and i’m forced to pull it out and get an alert I’m putting the drive in danger. Why are macs like this?
After decades of paying monthly for MS Office I finally was able to eliminate the need for it from my world. Another billionaire suck up’s business gone from my life.

Local schools are using educational software by MobiMax who then sells ads they call “school sponsorships.”

And this is the second for-profit company that’s contracted with local public schools for fundraising. None of this seems to be regulated.

I wish schools would just go back to asking for gift cards so we know 100% of the value goes to the schools.
